Today’s Apple Event: iPhone 13, Watch Series 7, and More to Expect

0

Apple usually holds a Fall event as the year ends to introduce new consumer tech products including the new iPhone 13 lineup, new Watch 7 series, new Airpods, iPads and maybe a new M1X Macbook Pro. Here’s what to expect so far:

iPhone 13

Rumours and leaks surrounding the iPhone 14 are already up but that will be launched next year same time. In the meantime, Apple will unveil the new iPhone 13 series. They’re expected to come with the same design as the iPhone 12 but will feature a relatively narrower notch.

Display sizes will range from 5.4 inches, 6.1 inches to 6.7 inches for the entry-level iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Pro models respectively. The Pro models will have LTPO displays slated to support a 120Hz high refresh rate ProMotion display just like its iPad Pro counterpart and will likely have an always-on feature.

The new iPhone 13 will be powered by the new A15 chips that retain the same cores as the A14’s but are way faster.

Apple is adding the ability for the iPhone 13 smartphones to connect to satellite networks which will enable you to send emergency text and SOS distress calls.

The base iPhone 13 will ship with two cameras while the Pro models will come with three cameras

Apple is set to include new camera features including a Cinematic Video(portrait video), a new AI-driven filter system, higher quality video recording in ProRes for the Pro versions.

This year’s Apple iPhone 13s are expected to cost more thanks to increased production costs at TSMC – the company that makes chipsets for Apple.

However, Apple has upped the storage options up to 1TB fro the Pro model while the base model iPhone 13 will start at 128GB onboard storage. The Pro models will start at 128GB too with options for 256 and 512GB.

Apple Watch 7 Series

This year has seen increased adoption of wearables with smartwatches and fitness bands leading the way. Apple will be bringing the new Watch Series 7 that is expected to feature new design like flat screens and flat edges, new watch faces and watch bands.

The watch 7 series will also have bigger displays – at 41mm and 45mm with the latter sporting a 1.9″ screen.

We expect a new chip – probably S7 which is going to be faster than its predecessor.

Fitness and Health features will also get upgraded like body temperature measuring, blood sugar reading and blood pressure measuring.

AirPods 3?

We’re expecting Apple to launch new entry-level Airpods that will come with a redesigned charging case and earbud design like its older sibling – the AirPods Pro.

Sadly, they will lack Active noise cancellation and replaceable tips.

iPad 9th Gen and iPad Mini

Apple is bringing a new ninth gen iPad expected to be thinner and faster.

The tech giant will also bring a revamped iPad mini that will also have slimmer bezels and a larger screen.

M1X Macbook Pro?

New M1 chips are slated to power in the upcoming 16″ and 14″ Macbook Pros. Other than the processor, we’ll have a MagSafe magnetic charging and miniLED displays

We’ll be keeping tabs on the event so head over to Twitter and give us a follow.
