A couple of days ago, Safaricom launched the Nyakua Data Dabo Dabo campaign. The promotion gifts Safaricom customers 100 percent data bonus if they hit their daily data targets.
The campaign is also a data replica of Story Ibambe that was launched back in 2015, which rewarded customers airtime once they met a limit unique to their usage.
“Our aim is to enable digital lifestyles by expanding our network coverage, availing data bundles that offer more value and facilitating access to affordable 4G devices. Through this campaign, we seek to democratize data and enable our customers to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the internet,” said Peter Ndegwa, CEO – Safaricom PLC.
While all this is good, Safaricom is aggressive about the marketing of the product.
Now, customers are getting flash messages every time they consume airtime on their phone.
The messages started appearing on phones just the other day, and if complaints on social media platforms are anything to go by, then the flash notifications are not making anyone happy.
The messages are frequent and a bother, and should not have been implemented in the first place.
However, there is a way you can get rid of them.
Just dial *544*100#, and then choose ‘opt out.’
This will effectively stop them.
The Nyakua Dabo Dabo promotion will end on 11th March .
