Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 Specifications and Price in Kenya

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4

It has been an exciting time in the foldable space this year, especially in the clamshell style format as new devices come into the market to topple industry leader Samsung.

Samsung noticed the growing competition as today’s Galaxy Unpacked will all be about the Z Flip5.

Samsung is bringing a new zero gap hinge not only to top the Z Flip5 but also the Fold5. This means that both foldables will have slimmer and flat designs. The waterdrop hinge allows both phones to completely shut when folded.

It will have an IPX8 rating and stereo speakers.

The inner display will be a 6.7″ main screen sporting a 120Hz variable refresh rate with an even stronger ultrathin glass.

Both screens are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.

With rivals sporting large cover screens, it wasn’t going to be long enough for Samsung to jump in the trend. The South Korean tech giant will reportedly ship the Z Flip5 with a 3.4-inch outer display that’ll show widgets and mini-apps in partnership with Google. The large screen estate will also allow access to a full-screen keyboard.

Powering the phone is Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy – the same processor that runs the S23 series and will be the same chipset rocking the Fold5 and the upcoming Tab S9 series.

It will have 8GB of RAM and an additional 5GB of Virtual RAM thanks to One UI 5.1.1. It will come with Android 13 straight out of the box and will get Android 14 later this year and up to four years of software updates. Android 17 will be its last update.

Storage options include 128 GB and 256 GB.

For cameras, we’ll have the same dual setup – 12MP wide with OIS and 12MP ultrawide. We have a 10MP selfie camera.

The Z Flip5 will have a 3700mAh battery and 25W charger.

Its closest competitor in Kenya and globally is the OPPO Find N2 Flip which launched early this year. It goes blow for blow with the Z Flip5 and you can read our full review here.

Another rival will be the yet-to-be-launched Phantom V Flip from TECNO. It will be announced later this year.
