Vivo Y36 has just been unveiled for the Kenyan market. This is the company’s latest midrange smartphone in the Y series and has succeeded the Vivo Y35 from last year.
Vivo has brought significant upgrades with its latest addition including a brighter and bigger screen and an IP rating as well.
Vivo Y36 has a 6.64-inch 1080p LCD screen sporting 650 nits peak brightness and retains the same 90Hz refresh rate.
Powering the phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 8GB virtual RAM coupled with 128GB onboard storage which you can expand.
The phone ships with Android 13 and FunTouchOS 13 straight out of the box. Funtouch OS comes with nice software features such as AudioBooster mode, Multiturbo 5.5 and Ultra Game mode.
For optics, we get the same setup as last year. The rear setup is headlined by a 50MP main with a 2MP Macro and 2MP Depth sensor.
At the front, we have a 16MP selfie camera. All cameras can record video capped at 1080p 30fps. There’s no 4K video recording as the chipset doesn’t support it.
Inside is a 5000mAh battery with support for 44W fast wired charging. This means you can go from empty to 70% in 34 Minutes.
Vivo Y36 comes in Aqua Glitter, Gold and Meteor Black colours. The phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The phone is available at Vivo’s retail stores and partner stores as well as online at e-commerce platforms. It is going for Ksh 31,999.
