Xiaomi has today unveiled its latest T series smartphones, 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro, with the two models set to receive additional Android updates. The company had earlier announced the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro will benefit from four generations of Android updates and five years of security patches.
The 13T series comes with Android 13-based MIUI 14 and with the promise of additional Android upgrades, the two models should receive this year’s Android 14 OS update.
Design-wise, both phones have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display at 2712×1220 resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. They also feature an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Additionally, they both come in either Alpine Blue, Meadow Green or Black.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 13T is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200-Ultra SoC while the 13T Pro ships with MediaTek Dimensity 9200+, dropping the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 found in its predecessor. Both smartphones come with the same 5000mAh battery with the 13T Pro having a 120W HyperCharge which Xiaomi claims will give a full charge in 19 minutes. Notably, only the 13T Pro supports Wi-Fi 7 with Xiaomi 13T supporting Wi-Fi 6.
Coming down to the camera system, both models feature similar specs with Xiaomi continuing with its partnership with camera lens manufacturer, Leica.
The Leica-branded rear camera system has a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor which supports HDR10+ video recording for up to 4K at 30fps on both phones. It is important to note, 13T Pro can support up to 8K video recording at 24fps. Additionally, the rear system also includes a 50MP telephoto and a 12MP ultrawide. Both models come with a 20MP front camera.
