Infinix is gearing up to launch its latest midrange offering – the Note 40 Pro Plus alongside the rest of the Note 40 series slated for this year.
Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus is already packing heavy even outing the incredible Note 30 VIP[Full Review] from last year.
The phone is rumoured to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor – which is usually found in high-end flagships like the Vivo X100 series and the OPPO Find X7 series.
The Note 30 VIP has a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 processor ticking inside it. So of course we expect flagship-grade performance with the Note 40 Pro+.
Another Infinx phone showcased at MWC 2024 – the GT 20 Pro(GT 10 Pro successor) is powered by the same Dimensity 9300 chipset. It also has Infinix’s CoolMax thermal cooling technology. The two could likely trickle and power the Note 40 Pro Plus as well.
The Note 40 Pro+ will have some of the features from the Note 30 VIP including the FastCharge 2.0 technology for both wired and wireless charging. While the charging speeds are pixelated in the sneak peek – we can deduce either 100W wired and over 50W wireless charging.
The Note 30 VIP has 68W wired charging(PD) and 50W wireless charger. Wired charging topped up the phone from empty to 73%. 32 minutes is needed to go from 0% to 86% while 40 minutes charges it to full. So we expect even faster charging with the new specs seen on the box.
It will also support reverse wired and wireless charging so you can top up accessories or phones that support wireless charging. It’ll have a neat gaming feature called Bypass Charge that lets you charge the phone while gaming and it doesn’t heat up. It works by supplying power to the main board instead of the battery to keep the phone cool.
Elsewhere we expect a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate and 1300 nits brightness. This is a 10-bit(1B colours) 100% DCI-P3 certified display.
It will have a glass design(frosted glass ) with an IP53 rating and JBL-tuned speakers.
The processor may be paired with 12GB of onboard RAM and 256GB of storage. It’ll launch with Android 14 and XOS 14 straight out of the box. XOS 14 adds 9GB of virtual RAM.
Camera specs are still unknown but we expect a 108MP main, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies with video recording capped at 4K 60fps for both main cameras and front-facing cameras as seen on the flagship Zero 30 5G[Read our full review here and a separate camera performance review here.]
With Infinix sharing a sneak preview of their upcoming midrange smartphone, a global launch is imminent and we’ll keep you posted.
