Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme looks set to add to its portfolio with high-performance smartphones at budget-friendly prices with an expected launch of the Realme GT 7. The device is set to be a more affordable alternative to the Realme GT 7 Pro that was launched in November 2024.
According to various reports, the device was spotted in the TENAA database under the model number RMX5090 with the listing giving a sneak peek into its features. The phone is expected to feature a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels (1.5K). It will also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which is one of the most powerful chips in the market. RAM options are expected to range from 8GB all the way to 24GB, which would be ideal for heavy smartphone users.
The GT 7 will also feature a dual-camera bump with a 50MP primary lens and an 8MP secondary camera. The phone’s battery is expected to be even bigger than that of the Pro model, standing at an impressive 6130mAh capacity. The GT 7 Pro is powered by a 5800mAh battery pack.
Comparison: Realme GT 7 Pro
The Realme GT 7 Pro, launched earlier, has similar standout features. It features a 6.78-inch Eco2 OLED Plus display with 6,000 nits peak brightness. The Pro version also includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 50 MP telephoto lens, and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. It is IP68/69-certified for water and dust resistance. Powered by a 5,800mAh battery, it supports 120W SuperVOOC charging. It runs on Realme UI 6.0, based on Android 15.
Based on the specs list, then it is clear that users can really look forward to a well-equipped ‘flagship killer.’ It’s still not clear whether we will be seeing the series, let alone the GT 7, in the Kenyan market, but it would definitely be fun to see the brand launch its more high-end devices in the country.
