Infinix Note 50s 5G+

The smartphone market is about to welcome a new contender as Infinix prepares to launch its Note 50s 5G+ on April 18. This upcoming device stands out with what the company claims is the slimmest profile in its segment while featuring a premium curved display and impressive camera capabilities.

Slim Size and Impressive Display

Perhaps the most striking aspect of the Infinix Note 50s 5G+ is its remarkably thin design. The company is positioning it as “India’s slimmest phone with a 144Hz curved AMOLED display” in its segment, as per 91mobiles, a bold claim backed by comparison images showing the device alongside a pencil to emphasize its slender profile.

Despite the slim form factor, Infinix doesn’t seem to have compromised on durability. The phone comes with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification and an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, ensuring that style doesn’t come at the expense of substance.

The Note 50s 5G+ features a 6.78-inch full-HD+ 3D curved AMOLED display, with a screen boasting impressive specifications such as

  • 144Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth scrolling and animations
  • 10-bit color depth for rich, accurate colors
  • 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage2,304Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection
  • In-display fingerprint sensor for convenient security

Powerful Camera System

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the device’s camera setup, headlined by a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 primary sensor. This main camera supports 4K video recording at 30fps and comes equipped with various AI-enhanced features, including:

  • AI wallpaper generator
  • AIGC Mode
  • AI Eraser

For selfie lovers, the Note 50s 5G+ offers a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the Infinix Note 50s 5G+ is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 Ultimate SoC (system on a chip). According to the company, this chipset helps the device achieve over 700,000 points on AnTuTu benchmark tests and supports gaming at up to 90fps.

The smartphone also packs a massive 5,500mAh battery with 45W All-Round FastCharge 3.0 technology, promising quick recharges when needed. It will ship with Android 15-based XOS 15 and features Infinix’s Folax AI assistant.

What no one expected, though, is the phone having its own unique scent. The Marine Drift Blue variant of the Note 50s 5G+ comes with a vegan leather finish that incorporates what Infinix calls “Microencapsulation Technology.”

This innovative feature infuses the back panel with a fragrance featuring:

  • Top notes of marine and lemon
  • Middle notes of lily of the valley
  • Base notes of amber and vetiver

The intensity and duration of this scent are said to vary based on usage patterns and environmental conditions. While this feature is exclusive to the Marine Drift Blue color option, the phone will also be available in Titanium Grey and Ruby Red with metallic finishes.

Availability and Pricing

The Infinix Note 50s 5G+ will be available for purchase through Flipkart following its April 18 launch in India. While pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, we can look to the recently launched Infinix Note 50X 5G (priced at ~KES 18,000 for 6GB+128GB and ~KES 20,000 for 8GB+128GB) for potential pricing guidance.

We’ll keep you informed on any new updates regarding pricing and availability in Kenya.
