The Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) has launched the ninth edition of the BAKE Awards, expanding beyond its blogging roots to recognize creators across multiple digital platforms in 2025.
Submissions for the BAKE Awards 2025 opened today and will run through October 8. The competition now covers 23 categories spanning blogs, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, and podcasting platforms including Spotify and YouTube.
The judging process follows a two-stage format. A panel of judges will select the top five nominees in each category between October 9 and 30. These nominees will then face public voting from November 3 to December 2, with winners announced on December 6.
Most creators can only submit to one category, but new creators who started between January and December 2024 have additional flexibility. They can compete in both the New Creator category and one other category that matches their content type.
“We are incredibly proud to see how the BAKE Awards have grown over the past nine years,” said Kennedy Kachwanya, BAKE Chairperson. “The awards are a testament to the vibrant and ever-evolving landscape of digital content creation in Kenya.”
The expansion of the BAKE awards shows how Kenya’s digital creator economy has evolved since the awards began. What started as a blogger-focused competition now encompasses the full spectrum of social media influencers, podcasters, and content creators who have built audiences across various platforms.
