Galaxy S4 Mini To Be Powered By Snapdragon 400 Processor

1

There’s hardly anything you can keep under wraps these days so the element of surprise is something that died down once Jobs unveiled the first iPhone back in 2007 (even that had been plagued by long running rumours though details were sketchy and it was a wow factor at launch). It is a foregone conclusion that the Galaxy S4’s sibling, the Galaxy S4 mini will debut at Samsung’s June 20th London event. As such, details about the stepped down S4 are bound to leak more and more as we count down to the launch date. Today is another day in such and we have a clear idea of who will make the processor of the Galaxy S4 mini: Qualcomm.

According to the leaks, the Galaxy S4 mini will pack a dual core Snapdragon 400 Krait processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. Previous rumours put the clocking figure at 1.6 Ghz (and rightly so, Samsung is simply expected to overclock it to 1.7) so we can expect the Galaxy S4 mini’s processor to be clocked at anywhere between 1.5 GHz and 1.7 GHz. Add an Adreno 305 GPU in the mix too. While previously there was no mention of the chip maker, Qualcomm now comes into the picture with its Snapdragon 400 processor. That is exactly the same processor that powers the ill-fated “Facebook Phone” HTC First. It is also the very same processor that is clocked differently (1.4 and 1.7 GHz) in each of the Galaxy Mega super phones (5.8 and 6.3” respectively).

The leaks are through some benchmark tests allegedly of the Galaxy S4 mini and the other specs of the phone revealed don’t differ much with what we already know as can be seen from the two screen grabs below:
