In the wake of the announcement by CCK to switch off over 3 million counterfeit handsets come end of September, Huawei has reaffirmed that they do actually sell genuine handsets. Huawei wants to correct the misconception that all mobile phones manufactured in China are counterfeit. Huawei has been selling devices which are type tested by CCK and are verified to be genuine and in addition Huawei has customer care executives in all operators’ shops and five care centres in Nairobi with service centres at Malibu and Telebell at View Park Towers.
CCK Director General Mr. Francis W. Wangusi, also commented that it has come to CCK’s attention that there is the misconception that all handets manufactured by China or Chinese firms are fake.He noted that China has globally recognized companies whose products and solutions are being used worldwide by top operators and that they meet CCK requirements and type approval.
