Own an Android tablet? Can’t live without your Twitter timeline? If the answer to both questions is in the affirmative then you are in luck. And you have to thank leakstars for that. Not, Twitter. Not just yet. In typical Android fashion (we’re used to this. Remember the Flipboard app being ripped off the then newly announced Galaxy S III?), the tablet-optimized Twitter app for Android just leaked a couple of hours ago.
During the Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 event in Berlin a couple of days ago, Samsung took the stage to show the world the capabilities of its new high end tablet, Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. While the high resolution and pixel dense display of the tablet wowed everyone in the audience and those watching via livestream, it was not lost on anyone at what was openly a Twitter for Android app never seen before. The app has already been ripped off the tablet. Our friends using iPads have been priding themselves as having the largest collection of tablet-optimized apps, and rightly so, for a while. It seems things are changing. Albeit slowly. The Twitter app is a start. There should be more tablet-optimized apps since it really sucks to have overblown phone apps gracing high resolution tablet displays. Just ask folks with the Nexus 10.
You can grab the leaked app here thanks to Android Police who made a mirror off the one provided by the German site that stumbled on the app and sideload it. That is not always recommended but till the app pops up in the Play Store, it is your only option.
