ChatON updated to include SMS and MMS

ChatON, Samsung’s messenger app that recently hit the 100 million user mark is getting a serious upgrade that will make it join the likes of Google’s Hangouts app and Facebook’s Messenger app in being a one stop shop for all your messaging needs. The app will now offer SMS and MMS integration thus eliminating the need for using another messaging app.

These updates are available only on the Android version of the app since the iOS version is yet to receive it. Also the initial rollout is currently restricted to Brazil and Germany. I am not sure how long it will be before users in other countries get the notification to update the app either from the Samsung Apps store or the Google Play Store but it should not take long.

The update is said to be working well on the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S III. All Android devices running Android 4.0 and above will be getting the new update as soon as it available.
