If you’re a regular reader around here then you’re all too familiar with Samsung’s obsession with Swarovski and other high end fashion accessories makers. That started with devices like the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear (first gen) that were pitched as “cool” and fashionable and extended to even mini versions of flagships like the Galaxy S III Mini. The Galaxy S5 with the Gear Fit picked up from where the Koreans left last time and is the device currently being featured in multiple spreads on authoritative fashion magazine Vogue’s latest issue.
Samsung is presenting its latest products like the Galaxy S5, Gear 2 and Gear Fit to the fashion world as the go-to luxury btrands when it comes to mobile technology and wearables and this partnership with Vogue magazine dubbed Samsung X Vogue Collaboration does just that.
Recent Samsung marketing stunts have included going overboard with Galaxy S5 branding at one of the world’s busiest airport terminals, Heathrow’s Terminal 5 in London.
Will this lead to wider adoption of the S5 and the smartwatches and fitness devices it has in tow? That is a question for next time when sales numbers of the devices are out.
