Rejoice Galaxy Note 5 owners! Samsung has started seeding the much-awaited Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to the device starting with users in Cambodia.

The release of the Galaxy Note 5 (model SM-N920C) Marshmallow update comes a few days after Samsung started rolling out the same to users of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones.

Samsung has been testing the firmware builds for the device for a while now and several users were able to accidentally get the update over the air in the last two months.

Samsung’s Marshmallow update includes several new features like a revamped internet browser and a better messaging application. Samsung devices with the famous curved display going under the Edge branding like the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ are also getting several feature improvements with the Marshmallow update.

With the release of the Marshmallow update to its premium smartphones from last year, attention shifts to the upcoming release of this year’s flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7, which will be unveiled on Sunday.

For the Galaxy Note 5 users who dread the long wait before Samsung avails the Marshmallow update over the air in their respective regions, you can get it directly here or from Samsung using the SmartSwitch tool (Windows, Mac). Or just keep regularly checking About device > Software update in your device’s Settings application.
