Infinix has finally made available the long-awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Infinix Note 2.
An entry in the Infinix forums announcing the final release of the update that brings Marshmallow to the 3-month old device yesterday.
The update also includes an upgrade to the custom interface of the Infinix Note 2, XUI. One of the most notable added features besides the obvious Marshmallow-centered features like Google Now on Tap is support for video calls. The full changelog of the update can be found on the Infinix forums (which is where you can also download the firmware as well).
The process to update the device manually as suggested in the forums can be a bit tasking (read: it is not meant for everyone) but you can sit tight and wait for an over-the-air (OTA) update which should be rolling out at the moment as well.
Both models of the Infinix Note 2 namely the 3G variant and the LTE variant, are getting the update.
The Infinix Note 2 becomes the second Infinix smartphone to get updated to Android 6.0. In late January, the Infinix Hot 2 which was all but guaranteed to get the Marshmallow update thanks to being an Android One device got it in late January.
Have you got the Marshmallow update on your Infinix Note 2? We would like to hear about your experience so far. Sound off in our forums.
