When it comes to smartphone trends in 2017, one thing that we have seen big brands bring to the table is the reduction of bezels and adoption of taller, 18:9 aspect ratio displays. To add to the list of Samsung, LG and Apples of the world are OPPO with their new device, the F5. The OPPO F5 which recently launched in the Philippines is the successor to the well-known, selfie-expert, OPPO F3. The F5 adopts the new 18:9 aspect ratio and due to this, OPPO has managed to fit a 6-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2160) in the body of a 5.5-inch device.

The OPPO F5’s new design strays away from the traditional OPPO design aesthetic, at least on the front. There are no navigation buttons and the fingerprint reader has been relocated to the back, to make room for the display that now takes up most of the front panel. Aside from that new display that OPPO os referring to as “Full-Screen Design”, the OPPO F5 comes with a 20MP selfie shooter with A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) beauty recognition technology that apparently defies the paradox of marrying Artificial Intelligence technology with organic beauty to create the most natural and stunning of selfies.

The new A.I. beauty technology is said to intelligently highlight your facial features such as your eyes, nose, cheekbones and jawline to create the perfectly refined and natural selfie. The selfie camera also features a bokeh mode that will keep your face in focus while blurring the background.

Other features of the OPPO F5 include a 16MP rear camera, 3200mAh battery, 4GB RAM, Color OS 3.2 on top of Android 7.1, MT6763T processor and 4G support. The device will be launched officially into the Kenyan market on November 20.
