If there’s one company that has been missing in action throughout Q1 2018 is Infinix. We all expected the Infinix S3 to be the company’s first smartphone for the year 2017 and it was, for other markets just not Kenya. Well, it seems that the Hot 6 Pro will launch before we get to lay our eyes on the S3.
Infinix Kenya was spotted teasing their next Hot smartphone on their official Instagram account. The post that mentioned something “extra Hot” about to be served with the hashtags #6isComing and #DoubleAmazing included in the post.
From this, we can infer that Infinix’s next smartphone will be the Hot 6. We know that we will be getting the Pro variant in Kenya because teasers from the company posted on their Twitter account have “Hot6Pro” watermarked on them.
Also, we can see the company is teasing the possibility of dual cameras, a first for the Hot series. What we are not sure is if the dual cameras will be on the back or the front as we saw with the Infinix S2 from last year. Expected specifications for the Hot 6 Pro are Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, a Snapdragon 430 Procesor, 3GB RAM and 4G LTE support. These specifications leaked after a device carrying the codename Infinix X604 was spotted on Geekbench at the beginning of the year.

The image that Infinix posted, does not give much away aside from the outline of the device, but if you look closely, you will notice that the device is quite tall hence I am pretty confident that we could see the Hot 6 Pro clad the new 18:9 aspect ratio, this is further supported by the words, “Unrivalled field of view” on the image. We cannot accuratelty speculate on the launch date but we expect the Infinix Hot 6 Pro to hit store shelves around mid-May.
