Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 Set to Launch in Kenya Later This Week

Huawei Mobile Kenya has been teasing the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 for some time and we finally have a launch date. Huawei is keeping its head high despite the ongoing crisis with the US by launching new devices such as the recently announced Huawei Nova 5 series, Huawei MediaPad M6 and now the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 which will be launching in Kenya later this week.

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is the successor to the last year’s Huawei Y9 2019 which we totally loved and now comes with even better specs.

Here’s what it packs

Huawei has decided to go all bezel-less with the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 as it ditched the regular teardrop notch. The phone will feature a 6.59-inch 2340×1080 Ultra FullView display.

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will rock a pop-up 16MP f/2.0 camera lens. At the back is a triple camera setup that includes a 16MP(f/1.8) main lens, an 8MP(f/2.4) wide-angle shooter with 120 degrees FOV(Field of View) and 2MP(f/2.4) depth sensor units. Huawei uses 6P lenses that gather more light to enhance the resolution and contrast of photos taken and thus they’ll come out brighter and clearer.

The cameras will be AI-powered to shoot stunning selfies, upgraded scene recognition to up to 22 categories and 500 scenes for more vivid shots. The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will also shoot brilliant 3D portraits from both the rear and front cameras with studio-quality lighting effects.

.

Under the hood, the 12nm Kirin 710 octa-core chipset accompanied by 4GB of RAM will power the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 so expect the phone to be much faster and efficient during multitasking, regular use and also provide smooth mobile gaming experiences while still keeping power consumption on the low to make the phone’s battery life last even longer.

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will also feature 128GB of internal storage that you can expand with a microSD up to 512GB to keep all your media files and apps.

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will pack a 4000mAh battery plus feature smart power saving options to increase its efficiency and give users extended battery life. It will also rock type-C USB port. A rear fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock are present for biometrics.

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will come with Android Pie 9.0 and EMUI 9.0 skin with intelligent functions to help you be more efficient in your everyday tasks.

Pricing

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 will start selling exclusively on Jumia for Ksh 24,999.
