Instagram vulnerabilityDark mode is finally here for both Android 10 and iOS 13. Most apps have been quick to adopt this change but third party apps have been slow to release a dark mode or dark theme for their apps – Instagram is one of them. Facebook has been working on bringing dark mode on its main app and it looks like the same efforts are being made to its Instagram app.

Instagram has started to roll out an official dark mode to its beta users on version 14.0.0.24(APK Download). There are no new features or redesigns.  You get a pure black interface while some buttons and logos retain white accents. IGTV and Direct Messages also get a dark theme.

Switching the dark mode system toggle on Android 10 activates the dark theme on Instagram that also darkens the status bar which leaves time, battery and some notification icons invisible.

The mode can also be enabled on Samsung phones running One UI too. When you activate night mode on One UI, you get dark mode on Instagram too.

The dark theme makes it easier to scroll through your feed at night.

The dark mode looks refined and we can’t wait for it to roll out to all users via a toggle on the settings menu.
