OPPO A9 2020 and OPPO A5 2020 Officially Launched in Kenya

OPPO has just launched its latest phones, the OPPO A9 2020 and OPPO A5 2020 to the Kenyan market which come with new and great features. The OPPO A9 2020 and OPPO A5 2020 joins OPPO’s A series of phones targetted at the youth – the series boasts of having 160 million users.

The OPPO A9 combines beautiful design with great cameras for photography and long-lasting battery life. The phone was announced earlier this month and will now be available for purchase in Kenya.

The OPPO A9 2020 comes with a premium design that features a 3D gradient back with an attractive glass finish.

The quad camera setup sits vertically alongside the LED flash. There’s also a quick fingerprint sensor and the OPPO logo placed vertically. You get a dual-sim slot that also hosts an external microSD card(up to 256GB). Volume rockers have seen decently placed for easier operations especially on one hand.

You get a headphone jack and Type-C charging port that also supports fast charging.

On the front is a 6.53″ Full HD+ Sunlight Screen with a resolution of 1,600×720 in a 20:9 aspect ratio along with an 89% screen-to-body ratio.

For protection, you have Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display also has a few drop notch that houses the selfie camera.

For photography, the OPPO A9 2020 packs 5 AI powered cameras that include primary 48-megapixel sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor, and another 2-megapixel depth unit.

Modes to play with include portrait, panorama, HDR, ultra-wide mode, slow motion, dazzle colour, ultra night mode and time-lapse photography.

There’s a 16MP front facing camera for selfies.

For videos, the OPPO A9 2020 comes with improved stability from combining EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) with intelligent technology and an internal gyroscope. This will come in handy especially for smartphone makers and vloggers.

The OPPO A9 2020 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor and comes with Android 9 Pie that runs couples with Color OS 6.0.1.

Under the hood, there’s 8GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

The OPPO A9 2020 comes with a 5000mAh battery that promises to deliver all-day performance no doubt even for heavy users. There’s also reverse charging that allows you to charge other devices from the OPPO device.

The OPPO A9 2020 will come in two colours namely Marine Green and Space Purple.

The OPPO A9 2020 is for people who want great camera performance, premim designed phones with massive batteries.

Other features include Gaming Boost 2.0, Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers, Nightshield and Widevine L1 certification for HD for video playback in apps such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

OPPO also launched the OPPO A5 2020 that packs similar internal features apart from the main primary and selfie camera. Instead of getting 48MP and 16MP lens, you get 12 MP lens and 8MP lens for the selfies respectively.

The OPPO A5 2020 comes in two colours Mirror Black and Dazzle White.

Pricing and Availability

The OPPO A9 2020 will retail from Ksh 29,999 and the OPPO A5 2020 will retail from Ksh 23,999. Preorder period for the OPPO A9 2020 is form today til the 24th October. The OPPO A9 2020 will be available on their OPPO branded retail shops.

On the 25th October, they’ll be an OPPO sale on all their retail shops.

The OPPO A5 2020 will start selling from early November.
