UPDATE: Pricing details for the Vivo Y19. vivo, the major Chinese smartphone manufacturer is known for pioneering tech that we see in smartphones later on. They were the first to show an in-display fingerprint scanner and a pop up camera that became the norm in 2019.
The company is planning to unveil the vivo Y19 which is an aim to expand their Y- series of smartphones portfolio in the Kenyan market. It will be joining the rest of the Y series that includes the Y13, Y15, Y17 and Y19 that are retailing in stores countrywide.
The Y19 will features a 6.53 inch 1080p display with a notch that they call a Fullview display. It has a whopping 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal strage and runs on the Mediatek MT6768 processor.
It has a triple “AI” camera system at the back where we have a 16MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. The selfie camera is a 16MP unit.
The battery is also a killer preposition for this phone. The Y19 has a 5,000mAh battery which is pretty massive. Thanks to their Dual Engine Fast charge technology, there is 18W charging brick inside the box that will top up that battery quickly. The phone will also be available in two colours: Magnetic Black and Spring White.
vivo has not announced the price of the Y19 yet, but we can speculate. The Y12 retails for KES 14,999, the Y15 for KES 19,999 and the Y17 for KES 24,999. We can expect the Y19 to be more expensive than the Y17 but cheaper than the more expensive V17 Pro that we reviewed recently.
The Vivo Y19 will start selling from Ksh 27,000
