The vivo Y31d has officially gone on sale in Kenya, positioned as a solution for users who prioritize battery life above all else. Starting at KES 26,999, the device is built around a 7200mAh battery, which is the largest capacity vivo has ever put into a smartphone.
The massive battery is designed to handle heavy usage without requiring a midday charge. According to the performance data, a single charge can support up to 45 hours of video playback, 14.5 hours of navigation, or nearly 12 hours of continuous gaming.
When the battery eventually runs low, it uses 44W fast charging to get back to full. To address concerns about long-term reliability, vivo engineered the battery to retain at least 80% of its original capacity even after 6 years of regular use, or approximately 1,600 charge cycles.
The charging system also monitors temperature over 40,000 times a day to prevent overheating.
Durability is another focus of the vivo Y31d. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, which means it is resistant to dust and can survive being submerged in water or sprayed with high-pressure jets.
The phone also features “Wet-Hand Touch” technology, ensuring the screen stays responsive even if the user is caught in the rain or has wet hands. The physical build includes reinforced glass and structural protection to help it survive accidental drops and everyday bumps.
On the technical side, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 processor. This is paired with a 120Hz refresh rate display that reaches a peak brightness of 1250 nits, making the screen easy to read even in bright outdoor sunlight.
The device runs on OriginOS 6.0, which includes a new notification interface called Origin Island and several AI-driven tools to help with daily tasks and productivity.
