TECNO Camon 16 Series, the next generation Camon line is slated to be announced for the Kenyan market pretty soon.
They will be released next month starting with the Camon 16 Premier that will be released next week.
TECNO says that the tentative launch date is September 3rd which is Thursday next week. Official sales will be done from September 4th which is Friday next week.
The company is also hyping the launch of their next generation of camera focused phones with a global AR conference. This is not the first time we have seen this as OnePlus did that with the launch of the Nord.
It is all about the cameras
The Camon series of smartphones have always been the camera focused line of the TECNO brand and the new generation is no surprise. TECNO is hyping the Camon 16 series to have pretty serious camera capabilities this time round.
There will be a 64MP camera at the back, which I presume to be the main sensor. TTECNO also touts a quad camera layout at the back which means apart from the main 64MP sensor, we could have the usual wide angle and depth sensors.
They also say that there is a dual selfie camera system, which will combine the 48MP camera with an unnamed daughter camera. I believe the 48MP selfie camera is the most among of megapixels I’ve seen on a selfie camera so far.
I can bet these will be available on the premium version of the Camon 16 series, but we will wait until next week to see.
TECNO did not divulge a lot of details like the processor, RAM and storage options which we expect to know next week. They also didn’t mention the pricing, which is important for a lot of you out there. As soon as we get these details, we will share with you, the audience.
