Samsung has made the Galaxy M51 official on their German website and it has pretty interesting features.

Every smartphone needs a standout feature and the M51 is the humongous 7,000mAh battery. This battery promises upto 2 days on a single charge. The last time we saw a phone with such a huge battery was the Asus ROG phone which had a 6,000mAh unit.

Other features

The rest of the features are what we call midrange and we have seen this before on smartphones. It has a 6.7 inch 1080p AMOLED screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 and sports 6GB of RAM. It also has 128GB of internal storage with the ability to extend it further by 512GB with a microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy M51 features the usual multiple primary camera layout that is the trend now. The main shooter is a 64MP unit with a f/1.8 aperture. The ultra wide camera is a 12MP unit with a f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, there is a 5MP macro camera and another 5MP depth camera. The selfie camera is a 32MP unit that we have seen before.

The phone can shoot upto 4K video at 30fps while the selfie camera maxes out at 1080p at 30fps.

Fortunately, the Galaxy M51 has a headphone jack, type C port and a side mounted fingerprint scanner. It can do fast charging upto 25W which is needed to juice up that huge battery. It runs on Samsung’s One UI 2.0 skin on top of Android 10.

It is currently priced at 360 EUR ($429 or roughly Kshs 46,500) on preorder. Apparently will start shipping on September in black and white options.

The M51 interesting smartphone and would fit snuggly on the upper midrange market in Kenya. We will have to wait to see its launch in the country.
