UPDATE: Pricing has been revealed.

There aren’t many 5G devices in Kenya, and that is for a good reason: the 5G service isn’t widely available yet. Heck, Safaricom, which has since launched the speedy connection has its base stations limited to select places in the country: a couple in Nairobi, and a few others in Western Kenya, totaling 15. However, by the end of the year, the carrier says that there will be 250 base stations, which, by then, we hope, will see people actively use the 4G successor.

For now, if you want to purchase a 5G-capable devices, you have to spend a lot of money for one. For instance, we have the Galaxy S21 line, which costs from KES 80K and upwards. Still, Samsung has a couple of 5G-powered midrangers such as the A52 5G, but the Korean company is yet to bring them here.

The iPhone 12 series is also 5G-capable, but it goes without saying that Apple devices are pricey, and out of reach for the majority of Kenyans.

Which brings us to Xiaomi. The Chinese company has been making notable strides in the manner it churns devices out to meet the price point of every customer. This includes those who want 5G phones, but on the budget.

And that is where the Redmi Note 10 5G comes in.

The phone will be here (Kenya) on June 25, and it is equipped with some interesting specifications.

Xiaomi Kenya is also bringing the Redmi Note 10S to Kenya. Similar to the Note 10 5G, we do not know anything about pricing, but the company promises that both phones will be competitively priced.
