Safaricom did a lot of maintenance work on its services and products over the better part of 2021. The interruptions happened at night, so people were not massively inconvenienced, bearing in mind that the operator has near 65 percent market share in the country.
Today, again, Safaricom says it will be carrying out maintenance work on its mySafaricom app.
The utility product is part of Safaricom’s rich portfolio of services. It is basically one of the firm’s best apps, and has since been complemented by the M-PESA app.
‘Dear customer, due to planned system maintenance, mySafaricom app will be unavailable from 19th Feb 2022, 11 PM to 20th Feb 2022 at 5AM. Services will remain available on *100#, *200#, and *234#. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your support,’ reads a statement from Safaricom.
mySafaricom app has garnered millions of downloads, but it has since been eclipsed by the M-PESA app, which has been downloaded more than 5 million times.
However, we have since found out that mySafaricom is the most stable of the two apps, and has all features you would ever want, unless you want more insights about M-PESA. The dedicated M-PESA app, for instance, has detailed statements akin to the discontinued M-Ledger app, and also supports other features such as mini apps that negate the need to download specific apps for certain services such as NHIF or BuuPass.
You can therefore make preparations about this interruption if you use the app a lot.
