The flagship series from Xiaomi, namely the Xiaomi 12 lineup has gone global. This means that customers outside China can now purchase the device.
This is also a rare moment because Xiaomi Kenya will be bringing the devices here. The company has, in the past, concentrated on the entry level and mid-range market. And that is for good reason as far as pushing many units to as many people as possible is concerned.
Xiaomi has now matured, and churns out some of the best devices out there in terms of usability, software performance and camera output. Its Ultra line, for instance, is loved by many enthusiast, but this time around, the Chinese company hasn’t said anything about the 12 Ultra, so it remains to be just that, a rumour.
Back to the interesting part: customers will be able to purchase the vanilla Xiaomi 12, and the 12 Pro.
They are equipped with a triple camera array for versatile shooting, starring a 50MP main wide angle camera, with 8K recording capabilities.
Both are powered by the Snapdragon8 Gen 1 processor – Qualcomm’s most advanced mobile platform. It is built on a 4nm process, and boosts GPU graphic rendering capabilities by 30% and energy efficiency by 25% when compared to the previous generation (S888).
Both come with UFS 3.1 for quick loading and data transfer speeds, along with LPDDR5 RAM for memory speeds up to 6,400Mbps.
The two have AMOLED Dot Displays protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. They screens support Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
To note, the ordinary 12 has a 6.28” screen, while the Pro has a 6.7”. Both refresh at 120 Hz.
Both ship with MIUI 13 and Android 12 on software side of things.

Xiaomi 12 fits a 4,500mAh battery into a compact body design. It support 67W wired turbo charging for speedy power-up. Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 also support 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging.
