Smartphone maker Infinix in partnership with Movie Jabber and Crimson Multimedia held an exclusive premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – a first for East Africa targeting media, influencers, Infinix users and its partners.
Infinix’s latest flagship smartphone, the Zero Ultra, powered the early premiere.
Infinix Zero Ultra features high-end specs like the 120Hz curved AMOLED superbright screen, luxurious clean design, superfast 180W fast charging, and incredible performance thanks to Dimensity 920 5G processor, photography performance worth its name featuring a 200MP camera and 4K video recording and excellent battery life.
We’ve already reviewed the phone and you can watch it below.
“We are very excited about this partnership and we look forward to a successful event. Black Panther is an inspiration to everyone in Africa to merge culture and technology that is why we are proud to be a part of this amazing experience. As we celebrate this remarkable art I hope a new movement of future generations led by culture and tech can strongly emerge” said Mike Zhang before the premier event.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is the sequel to the original Black Panther from 2018 and not only pays tribute to Chadwick Boseman(T’Challa) who died in August 2020 but also brings the action with Shuri(Letitia Wright) going against Namor(Tenoch Huerta) from the undersea empire, Talokan. Like Wakanda, Talokan is also powered by Vibranium.
Other returning characters include Lupita N’yongo as Nakia, Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda and Winston Duke as M’Baku. The new cast includes Michaela Coel as Aneka and Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams.
A tiny heads up for those going to watch the movie to stay for the post-credit scene where a twist is revealed right after Rihana’s Lift Me Up is finished.
It’s worth noting that among the guests was Kisumu County governor, Anyang’ Nyong’o with his wife. He is Lupita’s dad.
Other celebrities who attended the event included Sauti Sol and Catherine Kamau -Karanja(kate_actress) who are the company’s brand ambassadors.
Infinix has been on roll lately bringing devices both for the entry-level category and midrange tier with the launch of the Hot 20i, Hot 12i and the Note 12 VIP and Note 12 Pro 5G respectively.
