The Africa Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) MANSA Digital Initiative has achieved four ISO certifications recognizing its robust information management systems. MANSA Digital Initiative has secured the following ISO certifications: ISO 27001 (security), ISO 22301 (continuity), ISO 20000 (service), and, most notably, the pioneering implementation of ISO 27701 for privacy information management.
These four certifications recognize the successful implementation of Integrated Management Systems. MANSA is the first platform to be awarded the new privacy standard (PIMS) certification. The certifications validate Mansa’s adherence to international standards in information security, business continuity, service management, and, privacy information management.
Launched in 2020 by Afreximbank, MANSA is a pan-African customer due diligence repository for financial institutions, corporate entities and SMEs. It was developed to address the perceived risk of doing business in Africa and with Africans. It’s a single source of the primary data required for Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on African entities. This includes financial institutions.
Naturally, the ISO certifications awards lay a strong foundation for MANSA’s growth as the preferred platform for customer due diligence across Africa.
Afreximbank President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Prof. Benedict O. Oramah said:
“The MANSA Digital Initiative is the answer to some of the challenges hindering trade growth in Africa, particularly, our correspondent banking relationships, where a majority of international financial institutions withdrew due to inadequate data about African entities and the substantial cost of compliance.”
The President highlighted how the MANSA and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) are joining forces to boost trade within Africa. Notably, Afreximbank’s recent launch of the Africa Trade Gateway (ATG). This platform for the bank’s digital services is expected to raise MANSA’s profile across Africa and beyond.
Afreximbank is also pushing PAPSS to facilitate simple and quick intra-Africa cash transfer.
