ChatGPT, the auto generative AI chatbot and virtual assistant is back online. The OpenAI owned platform had been down for a few hours this morning. The downtime comes two weeks, after OpenAI GPT-4o was launched.
Initially, the platform was loading but was unable to give any response to users. However, this escalated to the platform displaying the message, “ChatGPT is unavailable for “some users”.
Later, the generative AI web platform was not loading completely. It was returning the message, “The web server reported a bad gateway error”
OpenAI and ChatGPT are yet to issue an official statement. So, it was not your internet or your account, ChatGPT was down for users across the world. However, it is now back online and functioning as usual. Take note, some users are still experiencing disruptions.
Last year “periodic outages” affected ChatGPT and its developer tools. The outage was attributed to a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack. Attempts to access ChatGPT resulted in a message informing users that “ChatGPT is at capacity right now.”
