Samsung A16 5G

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G was launched and announced on 7th October and is set to be released on 25th October 2024. This smartphone comes with mind-blowing features.

Body design

The smartphone features a body dimension of 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9 mm (approximately 6.47 x 3.07 x 0.31 inches), giving it a fairly large and slim profile. Moreover, it weighs 200 g (7.05 oz), which is relatively moderate. Samsung Galaxy A16 5G build includes a glass front, offering a sleek and premium display surface, while the plastic back and plastic frame help to keep the weight down while still providing durability.

It supports either a Single SIM (Nano-SIM) or a Hybrid Dual SIM setup, allowing you to use either one SIM card or two SIM cards (Nano-SIM, dual standby) for flexibility with mobile networks.

Additionally, it has an IP54 rating, which means it is dust-resistant and offers protection against water splash.

Network Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G supports a variety of networks including GSM, HSPA LTE and 5G technology. It uses 2G bands for GSM networks (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) on both SIM cards in the dual SIM model. For 3G bands, Samsung Galaxy A16 5G connects through HSDPA bands. The device enables high-speed internet using HSPA, LTE, and 5G technologies.

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G features a Super AMOLED display that delivers vibrant colors. It supports a 90Hz refresh rate. In addition, it features a 800nits HBM brightness. Furthermore, it features a 6.7-inch screen that covers 110.2 cm² and an impressive 86.0% screen-to-body ratio.

The resolution is set at 1080 x 2340 pixels. With a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, it provides sharp images and videos at around 385ppi density.

Platform

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G runs on android 14 with 6 major upgrades. It operates on One UI 6.1, providing a smooth, customizable, and user-friendly interface. In terms of chipset, the device offers two configurations: Exynos 1330 (5 nm) or MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6 nm).

The CPU for both configurations is octa-core: Exynos version features two powerful 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 cores for high performance and six efficient 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The MediaTek variant is similarly equipped with two 2.4 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. As for the GPU, the options include Mali-G68 MP2 orMali-G57 MC2, both of which handle graphics tasks.

Memory

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G offers flexible storage options with a microSDXC card slot, which uses a shared SIM slot. For internal memory, it comprises two configuration : 128GB of storage paired with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of storage with 8GB of RAM.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy A16 5G main camera setup is a triple-lens system. A 50 MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture (wide) and autofocus (AF), ideal for capturing sharp, detailed photos, even in low-light conditions. A 5 MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, perfect for capturing wide-angle shots such as landscapes or group photos. A 2 MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture, designed for close-up photography, capturing small details up close.

Additional features include an LED flash, panorama mode, and HDR to enhance the quality of photos. The camera supports video recording at 1080p at 30fps. For selfies, the phone sports a 13 MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture (wide), offering clear and bright self-portraits. It also supports 1080p video recording at 30fps, perfect for vlogging or video calls.

Communication

The smartphone’s communication features offer a variety of modern connectivity options: It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band capability, allowing fast and stable connections on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. It also includes Wi-Fi Direct for quick peer-to-peer connections. The device is equipped with Bluetooth 5.3. It supports A2DP for high-quality audio streaming and LE (Low Energy) for battery-efficient data exchange.

It comes with comprehensive positioning systems, including GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, BDS, and QZSS ensuring accurate and reliable location tracking worldwide. The phone has NFC support, but it may vary depending on the market or region. NFC enables contactless payments and quick data transfer. Additionally, it uses USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging and data transfer.

Battery

The smartphone is powered by a 5000 mAh non-removable battery, providing ample capacity for extended usage throughout the day. It supports 25W wired charging, allowing for relatively fast recharging, ensuring you can quickly power up and get back to using the device without long delays.
