Kenyans are reporting a widespread iTax portal outage this afternoon, with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) system down and inaccessible nationwide. Taxpayers are unable to generate invoices or access other services on itax.kra.go.ke.
The cause of the outage remains unclear, and KRA has not yet issued a statement on the technical issues or provided a timeline for restoration. We’ve reached out to KRA for comment and will update as more information becomes available.
UPDATE
The iTax portal is now back online after approximately three hours of downtime. Login and all associated services have been restored and are functioning normally.
However, KRA has not yet commented on what caused the outage and whether the problem has been permanently resolved.
