Infinix is Teasing a New Smartphone, Likely the Hot 3

1

Infinix Mobility has had relative success in the several markets in the Middle East and Africa where its smartphones have been available on sale for over a year now. Its smartphones, categorized in several brand series like Hot and Zero, are popular for offering coveted features at rock-bottom prices. In 2016, the company is keen on gaining more ground. That means releasing several new devices. We’ve already seen one, the Infinix Zero 3, and we may be seeing another soon if what it has been teasing on Facebook and Twitter is anything to go by.

The promo image hints at what is likely to be the Infinix Hot 3, the successor to the Infinix Hot 2 which was announced in August last year and has since been available in several African markets and the United Arab Emirates.

It is not yet clear at this point if the new “Hot” smartphone will be offered under the Android One program which its predecessor belongs to. Under the Android One program, Google partners with companies like Infinix to release affordable smartphones that feature a stock Android build and are guaranteed updates at least over an 18-month period. With the Android One program clearly failing to gain momentum everywhere it has been launched, Infinix may just resort to going it all alone like it did with the first generation Hot smartphone. It is even easier now since it has its new XUI which we have seen in all the recent smartphones it has unveiled.

Improvements in the display, processor and battery are expected. It could also be the first Infinix smartphone to ship with the latest version of Android, Marshmallow. Infinix’s Android One smartphone, the Hot 2, only received the Android 6.0 update recently and as we and our readers noticed, it is full of bugs that are yet to be addressed. As teased in the above image share on social media, a better camera is also a top priority on the upcoming Infinix Hot smartphone.
