Tecno has released a beta build of its upcoming new user interface, HiOS, to the Camon C8. The beta, which can be downloaded from Tecno’s new Spot forums has been available to Tecno’s online community of users and enthusiasts for the last several hours complete with step by step instructions on how to go about installing the beta build.
HiOS is expected to, among other things, bring a central identity to Tecno’s lineup of devices that ranges from entry level through to the upper segments of the mobile device market. HiOS will ship, for the first time, on Tecno’s upcoming Boom J8 smartphone which is slated for an April release.
Details about the latest beta build of the C8 firmware that packs HiOS and further instructions on how to flash it can be found in 3 parts (here, here and here).
While it should be generally safe to try out the beta, remember such processes are not meant for everyone and you may end up with a dead phone if you attempt flashing it without the correct technical know how. There will possibly be updates to current devices when HiOS finally ships on the first Boom J8 just as was the case when Infinix devices started rocking XUI so the wait may not be as long. You can definitely afford the wait.
I particularly like this development because naysayers will now shut up.
We will no longer hear “Tecno does not release updates. etc. lol
but this update sounds like small struggle sha. 3 parts.
I think people will be interested. I for one am, and I’ll definitely use office wifi LOL
There’s still room to learn more, especially now that the device is a month plus in the market. Customer reviews should give us more insight.
Aha, finally, our own has arrived. But why 3 parts?
the tool pack and other things though.
|Thanks for clarifying.
This would definitely improve Tecno’s line of brands. There would be a form of brand identity henceforth. But seriously, how does this reduce the cost of fuel at filling stations?
This very well sounds like good news
set up things. dont dull it
will the 1GB ram be able to handle it?
Beta build? what does that mean?
