Instagram Currently Testing a “Save Draft” Feature

Instagram has been rolling out interesting add-ons to its service in recent weeks. The photo sharing service recently unveiled Instagram stories, a Snapchat-inspired addition that allows users to share multiple photos and videos on your Instagram page and they will appear as a montage/slideshow as a story. The feature also allow users to edit and add these stories further by adding text captions or drawing stuff on them. You will be able to see stories from the people you follow in a bar at the top of your feed.

New changes are set to come to the service with the addition of a save to draft feature. Instagram understands the hard work, dedication and sheer amount of passion some of its users take before uploading photos. Currently, if you exit an instagram post before posting it, Instagram deletes it. The new feature will prompt users to either delete or save their work of art as a draft or entirely discard it. If one wants to resume, Instagram will let you pick from where you left, prepare your photo and then publish it.

Instagram  told Tech Crunch that the feature is an experiment for the time being, one of the many the company engages in to improve user experience. If launched, this would be an interesting addition for its more than 400 million users.

Below is how the feature will look like
