Twitter and football were meant for each other due to the fact that the former is designed for letting people comment on live events while the latter is best enjoyed while it is live. This is the very fact that Twitter is the second screen of choice for football fans, who use it to comment about the various events they are watching on the big screen.
Yesterday night was Champions League group stage matches and one of the matches was between the English Premier League team, Arsenal and the Bulgarian team, PFC Ludogorets Razgrad. The game was tight with the match tied at 2-2 before halftime and it seemed it would end that way for most of the second half. However, this all changed at the 87th minute with a stunning goal from Mesut Özil.

To Man U fans, Pogba does in adverts, Ozil does it in real life.

This will be one long week as the banter won’t end thanks to that Özil goal. It is rather fortunate Vine is no more, well because short videos of the goal would have populated the timeline. GIFs and Twitter videos are here to stay and there is no escaping that.
