You have probably come across an ad for the Camon CX limited edition on social media or on Jumia for those who do online shopping. The Camon CX has been in Kenya for close to a month now and we have an unboxing experience for you.
We recommend watching the YouTube video above, however, for those who prefer a written unboxing, here you go:
What you get
For Ksh.31,000 you get a black carry bag with the TECNO & Manchester City logos, inside the carry bag, you get a big black box that admittedly is attractive (no, I am not into boxes). Inside the box, two more boxes, a selfie stick, stealthy looking water bottle and a Bluetooth speaker. One of the extra boxes holds the device itself and the other holds the charging cable for the Bluetooth speaker.
Inside the box holding the device, you will get:
- A “city blue” Camon CX
- “city blue” flip case
- Wall adapter
- USB Cable
- Earphones
- Warranty papers and User manual
Admittedly, the unboxing experience the best part of the device. TECNO took their time to ensure that you will feel special as you walk out of the shop with this device and feel even more special as you unbox it. The Manchester City branding all over the packaging serves as a topping to the well executed five-course unboxing.
The Phone
So, it is not just packaging and accessories, as well as that was done, TECNO did not make any shortcuts when it came to the device. The design is completely similar to the original Camon CX that was released earlier this year. The big difference comes with the new colour dubbed city blue and improved internals such as the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. Battery size remains 3200mAh, screen size remains 5.5-inches Full HD IPS and the 16MP camera combination is also the same as the original.

The software is still Android 7.0 Nougat with HiOS on top, however, TECNO has applied a Manchester City theme to compliment the branding of the device. The blue look does justice to the UI, maybe this is because I love blue, and you will notice that some icons have Manchester City branding on them.
Worth it?
Someone might argue that the phone is priced on the higher side and they are right. However, keep in mind that the TECNO Camon CX Manchester City Limited Edition is not meant for every Tom, Dick and Harry – this is a device meant for Manchester City true fans and for those who know what it means to be a City fan.
This is a device with better specifications where it matters, a unique factor and it will definitely turn heads with its colour and more importantly, there’s some street cred that comes with having a limited edition device.

Hey, what’s your view on this phone vs the opppo F5?
Hey. I would go for the OPPO F5, better looks and arguably a better camera.
[…] last year was a weird year for TECNO. First, we didn’t get a Boom series smartphone, why? The Camon CX was also amazing even though it lagged behind as a camera phone but the biggest disappointment was […]
