Month on month we are reminded of the problem that is Android, fragmentation. Google has released the latest stats for Android distribution and there’s no surprise. Despite Android Oreo being around for more than a month, Android Nougat is still gaining but the good news is, every other version of Android is on the downfall, quite small but still significant.
Android Marshmallow is still the most popular version of Android, standing at 32%, followed by Lollipop at 27.7%, Nougat at 17.8%, KitKat at 14.5% and the rest below 10%. Android Oreo’s big debut stands at 0.2%, which might not seem impressive but if things keep going the way they are, we’re in for some impressive numbers in the coming years.

I think kitkat was the most used only because most of phones with kitkat are up-gradable to Lollipop then to marshmallow! It was the game changer on Android world
