The Tecno Spark 3 is finally here and this device has me excited and I’ll tell you why in a bit. The Tecno Spark 3 got some really impressive upgrades in terms of both hardware and software. I managed to play around with the phone for a couple of days and Tecno is onto something.

In the box

The box has the device, a charger and USB cable, a set of earphones, a screen protector as well as warranty, user guide information booklets, Sim ejector tool and a plastic case.

Here’s our first look

The Tecno Spark 3 comes in an interesting design. There’s a 6.2” inch display with 1500 by 720-pixel resolution with the notch that houses the selfie camera, LED flash and other sensors. We got a black version with green subtly shining sparkles.

There’s also the headphone jack, micro-USB port and speaker grills at the bottom. On the left side you get the dual sim slot and expandable storage slot while on the right, you get the volume rocker and power button placed accordingly to closer where your thumb and first finger naturally rest on the phone.

At the back, it carries dual 13MP and 2MP rear cameras plus the rear fingerprint scanner. The AI-powered cameras will make your photos pop more.

Here are some samples(click to expand):

In terms of internals, the Tecno Spark 3 comes with 32GB of onboard storage and 2GB RAM. You can expand the memory to 512GB. The Tecno Spark 3 is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek MT6761 processor and 3500mAh of battery life which has been pretty decent the couple of days I’ve been with it.

Another facelift the Tecno Spark 3 got was ditching Android Go for Android Pie – this is a huge thing especially for a budget phone. The Tecno Spark 3 comes with Faiba 4G support for the pro version. All these amazing specs at a pocket-friendly price make the Tecno Spark 3 our favourite in our under 15K phones to get list.

I’ll continue using it for a couple of weeks so stay tuned for our full review where I’ll go in-depth about the cameras, performance and battery life and maybe add another phone for comparison to see if the Tecno Spark 2 is a worthy upgrade?

The Tecno Spark 3 ticks most of the checkboxes of what you’d relatively want and surpasses what the competition offers.
