Xiaomi recently announced a new series of their phones, the CC brand after discontinuing and launching the Xiaomi Mi CC9e, Mi CC9 and Mi CC9 Meitu Edition. The new phones are developed by Xiaomi in collaboration with Meitu for a young demographic who want camera focussed devices with flagship specs and creative designs.
Earlier reports had said that the new devices will launch exclusively for the Chinese market but now we know that an international launch is imminent at least for the Xiaomi Mi CC9e that packs a 6-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1560 by 720, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, a Snapdragon 665 chipset, a headphone jack, a 4030mAh battery and a 64 or 128 GB of onboard storage, paired with 6 of 8 GB or 6 RAM.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9e will presumably launch as an Android One device with a new name, the Mi A3 according to recent FCC filings. In the filings, an unknown device with the model M1906F9SC with an image similar to the Xiaomi Mi CC9e together with matching dimensions as seen by XDA-Developers and at the bottom, an Android One logo can be seen.
In China, the Xiaomi Mi CC9e goes by the codename “laurus” and Android One devices go with the suffix “_sprout”. On Weibo, a user posted images of the Xiaomi Mi CC9e with codename “laurel_sprout” that further confirm that the device will ship with Android One.
A posting on Ting, a virtual network operator and internet service provider also confirmed that the IMEI 864087040013098 of the device with the model number M1906F9SC is a Xiaomi Mi A3.
Hopefully, the Xiaomi Mi A3 makes its way to the Kenyan Market via the Mi-Home store.
