Safaricom has today announced a Black Friday offer where its customers will get a cash back offer when they use Lipa na MPESA.
The company says when you use Lipa Na MPESA from 29th November to 1st December, you will get 5% of your spending back. However, there is a catch.
Safaricom says that the cash back offer will be calculated at 5% of any transactional value upto KES 20,000 and is applicable for every transaction during the period. You will get an SMS that will notify you of the cash back.
The Lipa na MPESA cash back offer will be available in more than 300 malls and outlets in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu. The offer will be available at Sarit, WEstgate, The Junction, TRM, Village Market and Two Rivers while in Mombasa, it will be available at Naivas Nyali and City Mall Nyali.
In Nakuru it will be available at West Side Mall and Garden City and Buffalo Mall in Naivasha. In Eldoret, shoppers will enjoy the offer at Zion Mall and Rupa Mall while in Kisumu, this offer will be at United Mall, Acacia Mall, Westend Mall and Tuffoam.
Mobile spending is quite popular in Kenya. It comprises of over 80% of transactions according to the Central Bank of Kenya. Safaricom has close to 24 million MPESA users who transact a lot of money daily and use the Lipa na MPESA option to pay for random goods and services offered by merchants countrywide. This will be a good deal for those people that plan to shop within this period.
