After numerous leaks and rumors, OPPO Reno 5 has finally been launched.
OPPO Reno 5 series now succeed OPPO Reno 4 series which were launched early this year and ship with upgraded specs and design.
OPPO Reno 5 series now come with 90Hz OLED screens with the regular Reno 5 sporting a 6.43″ display(brightness at 430 nits) while the Reno 5 Pro has a 6.55″ display(500 nits).
Both displays are also Full HD+ at 1080 resolution.
OPPO Reno 5 5G ships with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor while OPPO Reno 5 Pro 5G comes with MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor.
Both series also come in two configurations – 8GB and 12GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage with UFS 2.1.
In terms of optics, OPPO Reno 5 series sport a 64MP(f/1.7 with EIS) quad setup with an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth and 2MP macro lens.
Videos can be shot at 4K resolution capped at 30fps.
For selfies we have a single 32MP punch hole camera.

The OPPO Reno 5 series are powered by 4300mAh batteries with superVOOC 2.0 fast charging – 65W fast wired charging over USB-C port. Reverse charging is also supported.
The charging port is also the headphone jack, so we expect Type-C headphones in the box.
OPPO Reno 5 Pro comes with NFC and WiFi 6 as opposed to WiFi 5 and no NFC on the regular Reno 5.
Both phones are dual SIM with the first slot supporting 5G. Sadly, there are no slots for extrernal microSD cards.
We have an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock for biometrics.
In terms of design, OPPO’s Reno Glow finish now produces microscopic pyramids.
OPPO also included a glow in the dark fluorescent coating on the camera bump.
OPPO Reno 5 Pro is selling from $520 while the OPPO Reno 5 starts selling from $410.
