Infinix Smart 8 comes with much needed design and performance improvements.
Smart 8 goes for a punch-hole screen ditching the waterdrop screen of its predecessor. This is a 6.6-inch 720p screen now with a 90Hz refresh rate screen instead of the standard 60hz refresh rate. The screen boasts of reaching up to 500 nits peak brightness.
Smart 8 comes powered by a relatively faster Unisoc T606 processor paired with 4GB of RAM with storage options starting at 128GB. There’s the option to expand the RAM with up to 4GB of Virtual RAM.
Smart 8 ships with Android 13 as opposed to Android 12(Go Edition) of the Smart 7 series. It also has Infinix’s XOS 13 as well which features Magic Ring similar to the dynamic island that gives you access to notifications like charging, and status updates.
Powering the phone is a 5000mAh battery with 10W fast Type-C charging which is an improvement over the microUSB charging port of the Smart 7.
For cameras, it sports a 5MP selfie camera and a 13MP dual main camera setup which includes a depth sensor. Video recording is capped at 1080p 30fps.
Other features that the Smart 8 has include a side-mounted fingerprint reader which is a first for the Smart series and face unlock for biometrics.
Smart 8 comes in various colours including Timber Black, Shiny Gold, and Crystal Green.
Pricing for the Smart 8 starts from Ksh 15,999 and the phone is available at their retail stores, and online as well.
