Infinix Hot 10T 90Hz display

Infinix Smart 7 is the company’s latest entry-level device and an upgrade over the Smart 6 in a few areas while still keeping some features the same in this series. Infinix Smart 7 maintains the same 6.6″ waterdrop display with 500 nits peak brightness at 720p resolution.

The top bezel has a notch that houses the same 5MP front-facing camera. The rear setup gets updated with a new 13MP main camera instead of the 8MP in the Smart 6 series. It is accompanied by a 0.3MP depth sensor. There’s a led flash and a fingerprint reader on the camera island. The latter is in a strange position as the secondary camera is going to get smudges as you reach the fingerprint reader.

Infinix Smart 7

Infinix Smart 7 runs on Android 12 – the full version, unlike the Go versions that came with the Smart 6 series. Infinix also upgraded the RAM option to 4GB from 3GB and 2GB of the older models. Sadly, they keep the same Unisoc SC9863A chipset.

Infinix’s XOS 12 brings with it a Memfusion expansion feature which adds up to 3GB of virtual RAM so you get a total of 7GB of available RAM. Storage option sstartat64GB and there’s a slot for expandable storage with an external microSD up to 1TB.

We have face unlock and rear-mounted fingerprint reader mentioned above for biometrics.

Infinix Smart 7 ships with a gigantic 6000mAh battery with support for 10W Type-C charging. It’d have been great to increase the charging speed to at least 15 or 18W fast charging. The company boasts of having 180W Thunder charge with their flagship Zero Ultra released last year. Its midrange Note 12 VIP smartphone supports 120W fast charging so it should make sense to have the entry-level series have up to 18W fast charging since it will take a while to juice up the 6000mAh battery.

Infinix Smart 7 looks premium and has a fresh design which most people will really like. It comes in various colours including Polar Black, Coastal Green, Iceland White and Peacock Blue.

Infinix Smart 7 is expected to start selling from around Ksh 11,000.
