The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), the regulatory agency for the ICT sector in Kenya, is seeking public input on the draft Digital Sound Broadcasting (DSB) license templates to allow stakeholders and the public to provide feedback. Developed by CA in 2023/24, the DSB license framework guides the introduction of digital radio broadcasting in Kenya.
CA developed 11 templates for DSB licenses covering infrastructure and services in anticipation of implementing the DSB licensing framework in the 2025/26 financial year. The framework also specifies the procedures for obtaining licenses and the various license categories available for digital broadcast infrastructure and services.
The regulator invites submissions of input and views on the proposed license templates from all interested parties, including members of the public, media agencies, licensees, and incorporated bodies.
Feedback may be submitted either by post to the official postal address or electronically via email. The deadline for all submissions is January 17, 2025.
