Adobe announced Thursday that it’s rolling out a new Premiere app for iPhone users.
Starting September 30, iPhone users will be able to download Adobe Premiere directly from the App Store, unlocking professional video editing tools without paying a cent.
The app will replace Premiere Rush, which will be removed from the App Store at launch, though existing users can continue using Rush until September 2026.
What Makes Premiere on an iPhone Different?
The new Premiere app brings desktop-level features to mobile, tailored for creators who edit and publish on platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram.
Key features include:
- Multi-track timeline editing with unlimited video, audio, and text layers
- 4K HDR video support for top-quality visuals
- Frame-accurate trimming for precise edits
- Automatic captions and styled subtitles
- Smart resizing with one-tap export optimized for social platforms
Unlike many free apps, Adobe confirmed there will be no ads or watermarks, giving creators a clean editing environment.
Firefly AI Enhances Creativity
One of the biggest highlights is the integration of Adobe Firefly AI. With Firefly built in, Premiere users can:
- Generate images, sound effects, and video assets
- Use Enhance Speech to fix poor audio with a single tap.
- Access AI-powered templates, transitions, and creative assets
Some of these AI-driven features may require credits or a subscription, but the core editing experience remains fully free.
Adobe designed the app to fit into a multi-device workflow. Projects started on iPhone can be opened in Premiere Pro on desktop, making it easy for creators to switch between quick edits on mobile and detailed editing on larger projects.
For now, this release is exclusive to iPhone. Adobe has confirmed that an Android version is in development, but no launch timeline has been announced. That means iOS users will get the first taste of mobile Premiere’s editing power.
