Now this is bad timing, my birthday is on september and facebook has announced via a blog post 
that they are closing facebook gifts from August. This is obviously sad for some, but for those who felt the gifts apps was bogging them, this comes as a relief, you wont be seeing the many images that you care less for on your page every year on your birthday. However they say the gifts you’ve already received on your Wall will remain visible, and you still will be able to view your sent and received gifts on your gifts page. People also can continue to use the many third-party applications on Facebook for giving and receiving gifts, such as Birthday Cards, Hallmark Social Calendar, Pieces of Flair and someecards.
