Twitter’s live streaming application, Periscope, is finally available on Android. Periscope premiered on iOS and has been a preserve of that platform up until today. Periscope’s main competitor in the mobile live streaming space is Meerkat which became available on the Google Play Store recently after a short stint in beta.

The Android app will have a few features that its iOS counterpart lacks at the moment like the ability to manage notifications. Android users will be able to decide if they want to be alerted when particular users are broadcasting or not to. Another feature is Return To Broadcasts which will let users to quickly resume a broadcast if it is interrupted by a system event like a phone call straight from their launcher’s home screen.

Periscope is live on the Google Play Store though it may not be immediately available at the moment depending on the region you are in. Eeer, make sure your device is running Android 4.4 or newer versions.
