Xiaomi Begins Global Rollout of MIUI 8

Chinese device maker Xiaomi has started rolling out the latest update to its Android overlay, MIUI, to users of its devices around the world.

MIUI 8, as the latest version of the software is known as, will soon be hitting a number of Xiaomi devices across the world.

According to a post on its forums, MIUI will be made available to users of Redmi 1S, Mi 2/2S, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 3G and Redmi Note 4G today (August 23rd) over the air. Users of the Redmi Note 2 and Redmi 2 may or may not get the update notification today. The update will be available to every other eligible Xiaomi device on August 25th. Those who cannot wait can go ahead and manually download the update for their specific devices and flash it (check the source link below).

MIUI 8 debuted back in May during the unveiling of the Mi Max phablet and brings with it several feature updates and improvements over its predecessor, MIUI 7.
